Tree Removal

If you've started listening to the wind at night, you know the feeling. Most tree jobs end when the tree comes down. Ours ends when your yard looks like nothing ever happened, so the stump, the sawdust, the branches and the green waste all leave the same day. No deposit, no money up front, no "we'll come back for the stump."
James answers his own phone. The bloke who quotes your tree is the bloke who takes it down.
Why good jobs go bad
You've probably already heard a story from someone down the road. The felling went fine, then the ute drove off and the stump was still there, the logs were still across the garden, and nobody was answering the phone. That's the gap between "removal" and finished, and it's why a quote can sit on your kitchen bench for months while the tree stays exactly where it is. The question isn't whether someone can take your tree down. It's what your yard looks like when they leave, and what happens if they don't come back.
How we finish
Clean-up means different things to different people, and that's usually where the trouble starts. So here's exactly what we mean by it, written down before you've paid anything. Seven things, every job, same visit. If one of them isn't done, the job isn't done.
Nothing owing. Nothing to come back for.
Worth asking whoever else you're getting a quote from what their list looks like.Recent work
Big gums beside the house, dead limbs over the roof, ornamental pears, cypress. Most of them done in a day.
★★★★★Would definitely recommend James. Prompt response and very competitive quote. Very polite and courteous young man who completed the removal of three large trees in a timely manner, and cleaned up any mess before he left.

★★★★★Jame The Humble Tree Surgeon did a fabulous job at our property. He had good solutions to trees overhanging the house, blocking sunshine getting into our yard and problem gums. James did a fantastic job and was a pleasure to deal with. He even removed his work boots before coming inside. As a bonus, he left the yard, driveway and areas where he worked cleaner than they were before he started. I recommend James to anyone who needs a tree surgeon. David Smith.

I came across them on social media and from what was a simple enquiry turned into a job that I highly recommend to anyone looking for an honest and true Arborist.
From the quote, to completion I am truly satisfied with his work and simplicity overall.

What we do
Gums beside the house, dead trees that have been on your mind a while, anything you'd rather not have standing next winter.
See how we do it
Limbs on the roof, branches filling the gutters, deadwood that comes down on its own. Cut back properly, so the tree keeps its shape.
See how we do it
Ground below the surface so you can mow over it, plant on it, or forget it was ever there.
See how we do it
You paid for that tree. The usable timber gets cut into rounds and stacked where you want it.

Something across the drive, or leaning on something it shouldn't be. Give us a ring.

Acreage, new blocks, fence lines and paddock trees. Bigger jobs, same finish.

How you pay
No deposit, and nothing up front. We turn up, do the work, and when we're finished you walk the yard and have a look for yourself. The invoice comes after that, once you've seen what you're paying for.
That's the whole thing. It's how we'd want to be dealt with.

To Ask Before You Let Anyone Near Your Tree
Before anything comes down
It's the part most people aren't sure about, and it's worth getting right before a saw starts. Clarkefield falls under Macedon Ranges Shire and Sunbury falls under Hume City, so the rules change depending on which side of the district you're on. In the Macedon Ranges a permit is generally needed to remove native vegetation. We'll look at your address and tell you where you stand.
If it needs a permit, you'll know at the quote, not after.
Ready when you are
Ring James, or send a picture of what you're looking at. We'll come out, have a proper look and give you a number. Nothing gets booked and nothing gets paid until you say so.
One thing worth knowing
A tree that comes down on its own picks its own time, usually in weather, usually with something underneath it. Then it's whoever can get there, at whatever they're asking, and there's no shopping around or asking anyone the seven questions. Dealing with it while it's still standing is the only version of this where you're in charge of it.
Getting a number costs nothing, and it's yours to sit on for as long as you like.
P.S.
If you've read this far, you've probably been thinking about that tree for a while. There's no rush from us. Send a photo when you're ready and we'll tell you what we'd do, and you can leave it there if that's all you wanted.
P.P.S.
Whoever you end up going with, ask them the seven questions. It's the quickest way to find out who you're dealing with.
